Visit… Explore… Relax…

TARA bed and breakfast is a home-from-home in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

Conceived and built by Bruce Taylor, the two-storey building provides modern, comfortable and convenient accommodation for visitors wishing to explore a beautiful and unspoilt region. Tara, based at Wooden Mill, lies on the southern bank of the Tweed as the famous river meanders through the historic market town of Kelso. This spacious bed and breakfast establishment is an ideal haven for those keen to discover the delights of south-east Scotland and north Northumberland.

Tara has two double rooms and one twin/family room, all equipped with ensuite facilities, underfloor heating and triple glazing. Each room features stylish decor and high-quality fixtures and fittings. Guests are assured of a personal service to match the elegant surroundings.

Over the centuries, Kelso was often a battleground for the warring armies of Scotland and England. Today, visitors soon realise why this secret corner of Great Britain is such prized territory. Bruce, a proud Englishman, and his wife, Janet, a passionate Scot, are your hosts. And Tara is where the Rose and the Thistle unite. Come and enjoy the Taylors’ cross-border hospitality and let them introduce you to a unique and vibrant region.
