The surrounding beautiful countryside of the Scottish Borders and North Northumberland is a gem for the regular visitors and those who visit for the first time. Kelso is a very popular base having many interesting shops, visitor attractions, restaurants and bars to enjoy a welcome break, it is midway between the cities of Newcastle and Edinburgh. Tara is located on the edge and within easy walking distance of Kelso, alongside the scenic River Tweed.
